Expectations for Homestay Families
At ExpAcross, we value the integral role of our host families in providing a welcoming and supportive environment for international students. To ensure a positive experience for both our students and host families, we have outlined the following requirements and expectations:

Expectations for Homestay Families
At ExpAcross, we value the integral role of our host families in providing a welcoming and supportive environment for international students. To ensure a positive experience for both our students and host families, we have outlined the following requirements and expectations:
Warm and Welcoming Environment
Host families should strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their student(s), fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion.
Comfortable Living Space
Provide a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained living space for the student(s), including a private bedroom furnished with essential amenities such as a bed, desk, and storage.
Nutritious Meals
(if applicable): If offering a meals plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals that accommodate the dietary preferences and restrictions of the student(s).
Cultural Exchange
Engage in cultural exchange activities and conversations with the student(s) to facilitate language practice and deepen cross-cultural understanding.
Support and Guidance
Offer guidance and support to the student(s) as they navigate life in a new country, including assistance with transportation, local amenities, and cultural customs.
Respect for Privacy and Independence
Respect the privacy and independence of the student(s) while also being available to offer assistance and support as needed.
Clear Communication
Maintain open and transparent communication with ExpAcross staff regarding any concerns, issues, or changes in circumstances related to hosting a student(s).
Screening Process
Host families must be aged 25 years or older and willing to
undergo a comprehensive screening process, which includes an
interview with the host parent(s), a home inspection visit, and
providing police check documents for all members residing in the
same household who are aged 18 years or older.
